Another week flew by and one of the great parts:
Diego arrived yesterday!!! 🎉🎉🎉
This week we had quite a full schedule and I have been working on my research A LOT!
We had our first assessment for the course ‘collaborative performer’. Which was nerve-wrecking at first, but it turned out to be completely fine!
Besides going ahead full throtle on my master project, I have been working on my next “assesment”. This assesment is for the module “using text to create a character” and I am both super excited about it and (already) very nervous! So pray for me Monday the 29th 😇😅
Besides all the classes and work I’ve been doing I have also been hanging out with some new-made friends here which was great! 😍
Having great food, going to concerts, shopping, exploring and drinking coffe were all part of that, next to our regular hanging out moments at the college.
Wednesday a few of us went to a concert by Gwyneth Herbert. It was truly an amazing show! I definetely recommend checking her album out!
It was really inspiring, heart breaking, heart warming and it definitely makes you think about the more important issues in life.
What made this show so special to me, is that it was not only a musical, but also a narrative and visual journey. I’m so glad I got to see it!
As I mentioned earlier, I’ve also done some shopping!
I was especially excited to find Kat von D make-up at the local Debenhams (kind of like ‘de Bijenkorf’ back home in NL).
Her make-up line is completely vegan and cruelty free and… I’M OBSESSED!
Everything is super pigmented and long wear, which is amazing!
This week I will be going to back to pick up another liquid lipstick because I received a discount by becoming a member 😜
All in all this has been a great week. Even though I was very busy with all my research, reading and preparations I am very happy that I made time to hang out with friends.
A happy reunion
Yesterday Diego arrived in Cardiff!
He will be spending the next week here and I’m really happy and I feel very blessed that we have to opportunity to spend this time together!
After spending a day together my brain finally accepted the fact that HE IS ACTUALLY HERE!
It feels a bit surreal, because obviously we haven’t seen each other (in real life) since September 12th and I had a hard time “believing” that he was here, with me, in Cardiff.
As luck would have it we both have the upcoming week off so we are able to explore a lot!
I showed him around for a little while yesterday and the rest of the week we will be visiting some cool places which I’m going to talk about in next weeks post, so stay tuned!
We both had very long days yesterday so we slept in, which was really nice, for a change 🙂
Right now we’re off to see Cardiff Castle so be sure to turn on ‘post notifications’ on Instagram to see all the photos!
As always, thank you so much for taking the time to read about my life here in Cardiff.
Love One Another – Kahlil Gibran
You were born together, and together you shall be forever more.
You shall be together when the white wings of death scatter your days.
Ay, you shall be together even in the silent memory of God.
But let there be spaces in your togetherness,
And let the winds of the heavens dance between you.
Love one another, but make not a bond of love:
Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls.
Fill each other’s cup, but drink not from one cup.
Give one another of your bread, but eat not from the same loaf.
Sing and dance together and be joyous, but let each of you be alone,
Even as the strings of a lute are alone though they quiver with the same music.
Give your hearts, but not into each other’s keeping.
For only the hand of Life can containyour hearts.
And stand together yet not too near together:
For the pillars of the temple stand apart,
And the oak tree and the cypressgrow not in each other’s shadow.
